Samuel DeZube
Blue Valley High School

Samuel graduated from Blue Valley High School in Overland Park, Kansas. In high school, he played football and baseball, was the treasurer of Math Honor Society and a member of National Honor Society. This fall he will be attending the University of Nebraska- Lincoln where he was accepted into the Jeffrey S Raikes School of Computer Science and Management. In the Raikes School, he plans to major in Software Engineering with a minor in Business.
Elizabeth Elliott

Lee’s Summit West

 

Elizabeth will be attending the University of Kansas in the fall of 2020 to study nursing. Throughout her time in high school, she has completed over 500 community service hours at various organizations, including Journey Church International, Abundant Life Food Pantry and Respite Ministry, and Rachel House. Elizabeth was the Community Service Liaison of her senior class, Vice President of Spanish Honor Society, and Co-Founder and President of the Future Medical Leaders Club. She also went on a medical missions trip to Haiti in 2018, which led her to her future career path of being an International Medical Missions Director. She earned her Girl Scouts Gold Award and IB Diploma CAS Project Award by baking cookies and sending solar powered lanterns, baby formula, and baby clothes to the mission in Haiti. She plans to receive her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas, and then work towards her Masters of Christian Ministry at Liberty University. After her master’s, she wants to earn her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, so she can travel internationally and teach health care techniques to smaller communities.
